Adding: to the Seafair excitement was a unique four-seater hydroplane on display in the Albertson's parking lot. Island Securities owner Seth Landau bet Hydroplane driver, owner and long-time friend Mark Evans that he couldn't build a four-seat hydro. The result was American Maid, named after Evans' wife Elaine's company, and it is now on the Island for temporary dis­ play Evans named it after his wifes' company because American Maid gives free house cleaning for mothers with cancer., Eventually Evans hopes to be able to give people rides in the hydro and use it to promote the sport.
