ELAINE'S AMERICAN MAID WINS BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD Seattle, WA - October 29 - Today the Better Business Bureau serving Oregon and Western Washington awarded Elaine's American Maid with an American Spirit Award. "The Business of the Year Awards was designed to honor businesses like Elaine's American Maid," said Robert W.G. Elaine Gordon Evans began American Maid nearly 20 years ago because of her passion for helping women, especially single mothers. Her goal was to provide women an opportunity to go to work and be empowered by running their own business, yet have time to be moms. Today, there are 80 cleaners with businesses as sole proprietorship associated with Elaine's American Maid. Due to the success of the company, Ms. Gordon Evans began Elaine's American Maid Foundation, a non-profit organization providing free maid service to women with cancer, men who have lost their wives to cancer, and families with children who have cancer. Reflecting on her community service, Ms. Gordon Evans says, "It's not limited to people who can afford it. It's not about that.
